Eight dead in California Rally Crash

15 August- Eight people have been killed after a car plowed into the crowd at a off-road rally race in southern California.

The accident happened early on Sunday morning, which also injured 12 people.

The crash happened in the Mojave Desert, 150 km east of Los Angelos.

Tens of thousands attend the California 200 race every year to see dune buggy vehicles perform jumps and negotiate an obstacle-laden course,

The desert east of LA is a popular area for off-road racing with many pro competitions being held there each year.
