EU for Safer Roads

02/08- The EU Commission has set the ambitious target of halving the number of deaths on Europe’s roads in the next ten years.

Between 2001-2009 these countries decreased road death toll as follows:

Latvia -54%
Spain -53%
Estonia -50%
Portugal -50%
France -48%
As for these countries, car accidents increased:
Romania +14%
Malta +31%

So how does EU intend to achieve this when there is a death every 15 minutes in Europe?
