What happened on Lebanon’s Road in New Year’s Eve 2014-2015?

On NYE, organizations, authorities and media joined hands to launch nation-wide campaigns, offer free taxis, and implement drunk driving sanctions to urge everyone to drive responsibly and avoid mixing drinking or fatigue with driving.

Yet unfortunately, according to the Lebanese Red Cross, on this night, 43 car crash occurred, causing 46 injuries and 2 fatalities (due to drunk and fatigue driving).

Authorities can enforce laws, organizations and media can raise awareness, but without YOUR help as drivers and road users, action cannot make a big change.

Here are 6 simple steps you can follow to help us:

1- Respect speed limits

2- Don’t drink and drive

3- Don’t use your mobile while driving

4- Wear your helmet and buckle it

5- Buckle-up your seatbelt (even in the backseat)

6- Don’t drive if you’re exhausted/tired
