المجلس الوطني للسلامة المروريّة، أمين سر المجلس، واللجنة الوطنية للسلامة المروريّة وأهم أدوارهم

الخطوة القانونية الوحيدة للتطبيق المستدام والفعال لقانون السير الجديد هي أن يجتمع المجلس الوطني للسلامة المرورية ويضع سياسة وطنية شاملة لتطبيق قانون السير بناء” على اقتراحات اللجنة الوطنية للسلامة المرورية مترافقة مع جدول زمني محدد لتطبيق السياسة المقترحة بالإضافة، إلى تعيين أمين سر المجلس للتنسيق والتنظيم بين كافة الجهات المعنية بالسلامة المرورية.

لذا، تناشد جمعية ‘كن هادي’ رئيس مجلس الوزراء بدعوة المجلس بالإجتماع بأقرب وقت ممكن للإسراع بالتطبيق الفعال لقانون السير، الذي سيساهم – بحسب دراسات جمعية ‘كن هادي’ – بتخفيف عدد ضحايا تصادم الطرق بنسبة أقلها ٣٥٪ مما يؤدي إلى زيادة النمو الإقتصادي بنسبة ١٫٥.

أعضاء المجلس الوطني للسلامة المرورية في قانون السير الجديد

:من اهم صلاحيّات المجلس

•  رسم السياسة العامة للسلامة المرورية والسهر على تطبيقها
•  العمل على تطوير قانون السير
•  تعيين امين سر
• المراقبة والإشراف على المؤسسات والإدارات العامة والخاصة التي تعنى بشؤون السير
• تنظيم ورعاية الحملات الإعلامية والنشاطات الخاصة بالسلامة المرورية وسلامة قيادة المركبات وسلامة النقل
• إصدار تقرير سنوي عن إنجازاته وما تمّ تحقيقه على صعيد السلامة المرورية، ونشره في وسائل الإعلام

مهام امين سّر المجلس الوطني للسلامة المرورية :

• توجيه الدّعوات للاجتماعات
• تحضير جدول اعمال الاجتماع
• التنسيق مع كافة الجهات المختصة
• متابعة مقررات المجلس
• تنظيم محاضر بإجتماعات المجلس واللجنة
• تلقي الشكاوى والاقتراحات الواردة إلى المجلس
• تنظيم محاضر بإجتماعات المجلس واللجنة

من اهم صلاحيّات اللّجنة الوطنيّة للسلامة المروريّة:

• إجراء الدراسات والأبحاث لتطوير السلامة المرورية ورفعها إلى المجلس لاتخاذ القرار بشأنها، وتقديم الاقتراحات اللازمة
• متابعة وملاحقة إصلاح الأضرار اللاحقة بالأملاك العامة على الطرقات الناتجة عن حوادث السير أو غيرها
• تقديم التقارير إلى المجلس حول شؤون سلامة السير
• إعداد التقرير السنوي عن إنجازات المجلس وما تمّ تحقيقه على صعيد السلامة المرورية

Kunhadi and Jesus & Mary School Demonstrate How to Cross The Road

Mrs. Lena Gebrane and Jesus & Mary students crossed the road on the safe crossing they installed on Antelias Public School on May 31, 2013, to demonstrate the correct way of using the safe crossing:
– Cars should slow down in the proximity of a safe crossing
– Cars should not enter the white zebra lines if a pedestrian is trying to cross the road
– Pedestrians should only cross the road on the pedestrian safe crossing and make sure their path is clear.

Drivers passing by the safe crossing gave the thumbs up to Kunhadi’s and the student’s effort at organizing traffic to allow pedestrians to cross the road safely.

Jesus & Mary School Students Install Safe Crossing With The Help of Kunhadi

Jesus and Mary School is the first school in Lebanon to be included in “Your Ideas, Your Initiatives: Road Safety Actions for a better Environment”, a project launched by P.A.U. Education, to create an opportunity for them to actively improve road safety in Lebanon.

Seeing that Lebanon traffic crashes toll ranks among the worst in the Arab World, seven young ladies from Jesus and Mary school 10^th grade decided to take matters in their own hands and carry out a project to decrease traffic crashes.

With the objective of implementing a project that will have an effective and positive change on road safety, the young ladies sought the assistance of Kunhadi’s expertise.

“We provided the students of Jesus and Mary school with training material. We suggested the idea of providing a safe crossing for students as we ourselves had done before. We taught them how to write proposals for their project, provided them with [road safety] studies, and coached them on how to speak to other students.” Mrs. Lena Gebrane, vice president of Kunhadi.

The young ladies decided to install a safe crossing in front of Antelias Public School, which entrance is located directly on the main road, putting the lives of students, crossing the road to and fro their school, in daily danger.

Against all difficulties, the young students found three sponsors, acquired the confirmations and permissions needed and successfully installed the safe crossing. The seven young ladies did not stop there, they proceeded to host road safety conferences for Antelias Public School students to inform them of the correct usage of a safe crossing and to help them become more aware of road safety measures.

We hope your proactive and relentless spirit will spread around Lebanon, and particularly the Lebanese youth!

Kunhadi Safe Crossing on Nabatiyye Public School

Under the umbrella of the Pedestrian Campaign Kunhadi has launched in 2012, which highlights measures of pedestrian safety in terms of using the pedestrian safe crossing and always being visible on the road, Kunhadi has started installing safe crossings in front of Lebanese Schools in order to keep students safe while crossing the road to get to their schools.

On December 11, 2012, with the support of the Polish Embassy, Kunhadi installed the 4th safe crossing in front of Nabatiyye Public School.
